April is Cesarean Awareness Month, so Tulsa County BirthNetwork teamed up with International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN of Tulsa) to host a family picnic to raise awareness for the 1 in 3 women in our country who give birth by c-section.

We had some great t-shirts designed incorporating the Cesarean Awareness Ribbon with the slogan, “Making Birth Better,” as a fundraiser for the two organiztions. In addition to selling t-shirts, we also had a fundraising event at Top That! Pizza.

Representatives from both non-profit organizations were there to visit with picnic participants and share helpful information.There were plenty of happy faces and cute babies!

There was even an appearance from Chris Middlebrook from BAM Entertainment who made balloon creations for the kids!

He was a big hit!Everyone visited and enjoyed the beautiful weather.Several professional members of the two groups donated some amazing raffle prizes, including gift certificates for midwifery services, childbirth classes and chiropractic care!

All in all, we had a great time and look forward to another co-sponsored event next year!
